This Follows The Attainment Of The Earnings Target Of The “3s Challenge 45” Three-year Plan, Which Was Launched In 2005, In The Plan’s First Year. Kenji Watanabe Ceo And President The Revised “3s Challenge 45 + S21” Plan Has Set The Ambitious Target Of Tripling The Net Income Of \2.2 Billion Called For In The Final Year Of The Previous Medium-term Management Plan. In Japan, The Recent End To Deflationary Economic Conditions And The Recovery In The Real Estate Market Have Boosted Period Earnings While At The Same Time Created Tougher Conditions For New Investments Needed To Expand Our Earnings Base. In This Environment, Both Operating Income And Recurring Profit Increased Substantially In The Year Under Review Due To The Accumulating Returns Of Existing Investments. As A Result, Net Income Reached Its Target, Amounting To \5,580 Million, Despite The Lack Of Any Large Asset Sales. New Investments Battled Adverse Conditions, Sustaining A Respectable Level Of \27.5 Billion. Shoei's Basic Policy Concerning Returning Earnings To Shareholders Is To Pay Stable Dividends, Targeting A Dividend Payout Ratio Of 30%. Accordingly, We Paid A Dividend Of \40 Per Share For The Year Under Review. We Also Conducted A 1.1-for-1.0 Stock Split For The Fourth Consecutive Year. Fiscal 2007 Heralds The Final Year Of Our Medium-term Management Plan. In Line With Projections For A Continued Rise In Real Estate Prices, We Will Focus Our Expertise On Making Every Effort To Achieve The Medium-term Management Plan’s Targets And Prepare The Foundations For The Next Medium-term Management Plan.
